(Free buffet lunch included — with time to eat, chat, and connect before we start.)
Training delivered by Promo Cymru.
As part of the Growing Up Online series, this session focuses on something many of us find tricky — how to talk with young people about their feelings and mental health in a way that actually works.
Co-designed and delivered by young people, this workshop shares honest insight into what really helps (and what doesn’t) when you’re trying to check in on them. It’s a safe, welcoming space to listen and build your confidence — without the pressure to be an expert or have all the right answers.
Through practical activities and open discussion, you’ll explore how online life and everyday pressures connect, and how we can show up in ways that young people genuinely appreciate.
You’ll leave with:
-A better understanding of what’s on young people’s minds today.
-More confidence starting the conversation without it feeling forced.
-Simple, practical ways to listen and support so they feel heard and respected.
This relaxed, friendly session is for anyone in the community who cares about young people – parents, carers, youth workers, teachers, volunteers, and grandparents. It’s a space for anyone who wants to better understand young people’s wellbeing and how we can support them through the ups and downs of growing up.
Growing Up Online is a free, three-part series of relaxed, welcoming sessions all about understanding young people’s digital lives today.
Across the sessions, we’ll explore the apps, platforms and technologies young people are using, how these shape everyday life and wellbeing, and how adults in the community can feel more confident keeping up with what’s going on online. The sessions are practical, friendly and jargon-free – no tech knowledge needed.
You’re welcome to come to all three sessions or just one — each session stands alone, so you can dip in where it feels most useful.
