Support, Wellbeing, and Opportunities for unpaid carers at Ebbw Vale Institute.
Caring for a loved one or managing a long-term health condition can leave very little time for yourself. Carer Wellbeing Pathways is a free, flexible weekly group designed to help you recharge, connect with others who get it, and explore new opportunities at your own pace.
Whether you want to learn to manage stress, try something new, or explore flexible volunteering and business ideas, we are here to help you take that next step. Free light lunch included each week!
“Is this group for me?”
Yes! If you:
– Help a family member, friend, or neighbor with shopping, appointments, or personal care.
– Provide emotional support or “keep an eye” on someone close to you.
– Are managing your own long-term health condition.
– Are on carers’ benefits – or if you aren’t on any benefits at all.
Whether you do it for 2 hours or 50 hours a week, you are welcome here.
Whats on?
– Free weekly wellbeing sessions i.e. mindfulness, chair yoga, arts & crafts, QiGong, local history and more, & opportunity for cuppa, light lunch & a chat afterwards
– 1:1 sessions to help you explore your goals & aspirations
– Flexible volunteering opportunities & work placements, in our garden, cafe, pantry and Sunflower Cafe (Starting September)
– Explore turning your hobby into a business (Starting September)
– Learn more about how AI can be used in practical everyday ways
– …and find out more about the Trailblazer access to projects such as ACTivate, BG Arts, Learn & Grow etc
Supported Participation
We understand that caring responsibilities can make attending groups tough – don’t let that hold you back from coming.
Bring the person you care for along to our welcoming Sunflower Café, or feel free to pop along on your own. While you step into a carers-only session, those you care for can enjoy games, crafts, and social time in a safe, relaxed space right next door (or in the same room), giving you time to focus on you.
Get in Touch: If you’d like to come along but face barriers or need assistance, please contact us, we are here to help make it possible! Contact sam@evi.cymru, ring 01495708022, or pop in.
This project is funded by UK Government through the ‘Trailblazer’ programme. Find out more here.
