  1. Animals Interactive Experience at EVI – a peek into the day

Comments Off on Animals Interactive Experience at EVI – a peek into the day

We were fortunate enough to have a few cuddly(and some not so cuddly) visitors at Ebbw Vale Institute (EVI).

Over 50 excited faces joined us at EVI as we were introduced to some very special guests. With thanks to Animals Interactive, we were able to meet, interact with and learn about the incredible range of animals they brought along.

The day was a huge success and we would like to extend a massive thank you to all that attended and to our incredible volunteers.

    Meet the animals!

While we met over 15 new friends, there are some whose stories have to be told!

    Koa

Excitement filled the room when we were first introduced to the cuddly Koa. And while she loves to nap, cuddle and have fusses, life hasn’t been too easy for the sweet meerkat. In the wild, meerkats live in mobs. While these are typically a meerkats family, they are watched over by a leader who ensure all mob members adhere to the rules. One of these includes no relationships – which Koa unfortunately failed. Due to this, she was kicked out and now lives with a new family – a human family who love Koa as their own child!

    Raven

While initially nervous when entering the eager hall, inquisitive Silver Fox, Raven, found herself quickly introducing herself to the room. Raven, like every Silver Fox, lives with humans. Due to these beautiful mammals being endangered, they are no longer found in the wilderness of the UK. We are thankful to Animals Interactive for allowing us to meet this incredibly rare species.

We would again like to extend a big thank you to everyone that attended and to Animals Interactive for giving us the opportunity to meet, interact and learn about these incredible animals! Take a look at our photos from the day in our gallery below!

All guardians were made aware that a photographer was present and had the opportunity to object. Please email megan@promo.cymru if you would like any images to be removed and we will do so immediately.

ProMo Cymru, charity and social enterprise, operates and is the custodian of the Ebbw Vale Institute. We are proud to have saved EVI for future community use.
