DRUG & ALCOHOL SUPPORT FOR YOUNG PEOPLE ACROSS GWENT
Gwent N-Gage offers free, confidential and friendly one to one specialist support for young people who use substances and for their loved ones.
N-Gage offers mental health support, training and can work with families to help them to understand, respond to and cope with the substance use of their young family members.
Llamau runs 2 programmes for young people; Learning 4 Life supports young people [16-25yrs] with the first steps in improving basic skills, employability skills and confidence.
The SY/MF project provides young people [16-19yrs] who have offended and those leaving the care system greater access to employment and training by undertaking a six month paid work placement.
CHANGING MINDS MENTAL HEALTH SUPPORT
Changing Minds is a project designed for young people aged 14-25 who have or are experiencing mental health difficulties.
We know that our mental health changes all the time and lots of young people may find that at certain points in their lives they might need more support. Any changes in our lives can affect our mental health.

ROAD TO WELLBEING: ‘Stress Control’ and ‘Activate Your Life’ are two courses, run in a non-interactive, lecture-style format for anyone that would like to develop skills that enable them to “be their own therapist”, control stress and live a more meaningful life. Class details available here
Counselling Service: Kim helps people deal with the root causes of anti-social behaviour, depression, anxiety and many other problems by changing people’s perceptions and behaviour though CBT.
Youth Inclusion and Support Panel (YISP): The YOS works with 8 – 15 year olds who are at risk of offending via YISP.
Gwent Drug & Alcohol Support Service: Provides direct support & intervention to service users and families.
One Life Autism Support Group provides support groups for parents and carers of children and for adults who are on the autistic spectrum.
Barnardo’s Cymru Community Connections Service helps young people with learning disabilities to be independent, take part in social activities and reduce their isolation
